Cuello Dama Negro from Almoharín. It keeps three days: that's why it's here now.
Figs do not travel well and they do not wait: picked ripe, eaten within three days, and the season is over. We bring ours from Almoharín, in Cáceres, where the trees have been giving Cuello Dama Negro for generations: dark skin, red flesh, the sweetness of uncooked jam. This is not our fruit — we buy it there — and it leaves the same day in a single-layer tray, because a fig underneath another fig arrives as purée.

How to store it
Seasonal fruit, alive and never cold-stored. Take it out of the box when it arrives and don't stack it. Eat whatever came ripest first; the rest keeps better out of the fridge, at room temperature and away from the sun. An avocado softens on the counter in two or three days — when it gives under your thumb, it's ready. Only already-ripe fruit goes in the fridge, in the bottom drawer.
Shipping & returns
We ship to mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands and Portugal. Free from €45.00. Fresh products travel in ventilated boxes and leave Monday to Thursday so they never sit in a warehouse over the weekend.
Fresh chestnuts and the packs that include them are perishable goods: by law (art. 16(d) of EU Directive 2011/83, art. 103(d) of the Spanish Consumer Act) the right of withdrawal doesn't apply. If they arrive in poor condition, send us a photo within 24 hours and we'll replace them or refund you.
